Two Brained is a consulting business that began operations on May 1, 2008. Two Brained is a partnership between Steven J. Barnes and Marcus E. Barnes.
After being trained in the visual arts, Steven received a doctorate in psychology and conducted postdoctoral work in neurophysiology. During his research career he published articles in several academic journals, received prestigious awards for his work, and become aware of inefficiencies in research enterprises and knowledge translation that could be mitigated via information- and knowledge-management technologies. He subsequently received training in user-interface design, computer programming and web-based technologies - so as to merge his knowledge of psychology and research methodologies with computational techniques. Steven's current passion is website and web application design.
Marcus is a web developer with experience using various web and non-web technologies. Rather than being mired by a particular technology or programming language, Marcus believes in working with the technology/approach that gets the job done well. He received a Master of Science in mathematics with a specialization in the history of mathematics.
